Abstract

Hadith plays a primary role, after Quran, in legislation of an Islamic state or empire. There are a number of kinds and classes of Hadith. The pronounced scholars of Hadith set the rules and principles for acceptance and rejection of Hadith. These scholars are unanimously agreed on the authenticity of ‘Hadith-e-Matawatir’ (a kind of Hadith) but they have a huge difference in accepting ‘Khabr-e-Wahid’ (another kind of Hadith). Imam Shafi’i was the first scholar who writes on ‘Khabr-e-Wahid’. Molana Anwar Shah Kashmiri is a renowned name in Islamic World and he is the first scholar in sub-continent who writes on said issue and set his own rules and applied condition for the acceptance of ‘Khabr-e-Wahid’. Why Khabr-e-Wahid is not accepted? What are the rules and conditions set by Molana Anwar Shah Kashmiri for accepting Khabr-e-Wahid? Is it possible to excess on ‘Nass’ via Khabr-e-Wahid? How Khabr-e-Wahid make some specification on general order? In this article, those conditions and principle will be discussed in analytical method Which Molana Anwar Shah Kashmiri applied.
